Even 15 years ago, no one dreamed of cryptocurrencies and their potential … although who knows … Today the world of cryptocurrencies
is dynamically developing and gaining publicity. What’s more, many people have become millionaires thanks to them. And it all started with bitcoin and ethereum!

You’ve probably heard about these two flagship cryptocurrencies more than once. It’s possible that you’ve been investing in one or both of them for a long time, so you definitely know something about them. However, if their names are unfamiliar to you or you have only heard that such things exist, we hasten with a brief explanation:

Bitcoin

➡️ with the BTC symbol is sometimes called “the king of cryptocurrencies” or “digital gold”. It is the first cryptocurrency in history
and at the same time an implementation of distributed ledger, which was created on January 3, 2009 by Satoshi Nakamoto (it is still unknown whether it was one person or a group of people). For a long time bitcoin has been maintaining the position at the top when it comes to its popularity among cryptocurrencies;  and its rarity and value are equal to gold.

Ethereum

➡️ marked with the ETH symbol is the first cryptocurrency that allows you to create programmable contracts (smart contracts). It was established on July 30, 2015, and its originator was Vitalik Buterin. Ethereum has been attracting the attention of the largest corporations around the world for years, because it allows for unprecedented utility of digital currencies.

Blockchain

Behind the cryptocurrency technology is the so-called blockchain – is a digitally distributed, decentralized, public ledger that exists across
a network in which a register of all transactions made in a given currency is saved and secured.

Book on cryptocurrency

The information presented above comes from the book entitled “Kryptowaluty: Dlaczego jeden bitcoin wart będzie milion dolarów”, written
by Michał Grzybkowski and Szczepan Bentyn. As the main sponsors of the updated and complemented November 2021 edition, we strongly encourage you to reserve a place for it on your shelves.

The authors assure that the book is appropriate for:

  • those for whom the topic of cryptocurrencies is still “a closed book” 🙂
  • those who has already heard some things about “bitcoin” and/or “ethereum” but they are not really sure “what to do next”,
  • for experienced cryptocurrency investors.

Currently, the book is available in Polish but for those who can’t speak Polish – an English version is coming soon! We are looking forward to its publication!
